The superior quality of Union pale lager, the oldest and most popular beer brewed by Pivovarna Union, is the result of modern technology and a brewing tradition we have nurtured meticulously since 1864. Our beer is brewed only from the most carefully selected natural ingredients. It is not widely known that Pivovarna Union draws the excellent water used in its beers from its own wells, as it has done since its foundation. The beer’s full flavour, medium bitterness and agreeable zest, and its sparkling golden amber colour are the ingredients for a delightful gastronomic experience. Union pale lager is a quenching and reinvigorating beer whether taken in a restaurant, at a picnic or at home. It is available in long neck bottles, barrels or cans.
Union stout is a superior quality dark beer. Originally, it was a heavy stout traditionally drank during winter only. Today, we brew a light stout with a distinctive roasted malt flavour. The better restaurants and bars will also serve draught Union stout. Connoisseurs are also very fond of a blend of Union stout and lager.
Union non-alcoholic beer is a natural beverage for anyone with a taste for beer who will not or may not drink alcohol. The beverage was developed by Pivovarna Union, which remains the only brewery in Slovenia to make non-alcoholic beer. Union non-alcoholic beer is an isotonic beverage that helps maintain the balance of fluids in the body. Because of its unique properties, Union non-alcoholic beer can be consumed in any quantity without losing form.
When we were considering the possibilities offered by the beer, we excluded one of the final procedures and obtained an unfiltered brew. However, we were soon confronted by a dilemma: light or dark? On the one hand, light unfiltered beer has an excellent and refreshing taste; on the other hand, dark unfiltered beer surprises with its ease of drinking and its caramel, coffee flavour. The solution was simple. We will leave the decision to you. Both versions contain traditional beer yeasts, which emphasise the characteristic murkiness; the taste is rounded off by the recognisable harmonic bitterness of the hops. Each bottle is hand-wrapped in paper, which is resistant to condensation; therefore, unfiltered dark or light beer can be stored in the refrigerator without issue, as they are best served cooled to 6-8 degrees Celsius (or 42.8 to 46.4 degrees Fahrenheit).
